My background is in hospitality and communications, and I’m also a co-founder and current CEO of Scarf, a Melbourne-based social enterprise which uses hospitality to transform the lives of young people facing barriers to work.
Other things about me:
I hold a Bachelor of Multimedia (Media Studies) from Swinburne University
I love writing poems, especially limericks
I have a ginger cat named Ron (full name: Ron Burgundy)
I'm also on LinkedIn, if that's your thing
Please phone or email me if you'd like me to do some writing for you.

Thurley Autumn/Winter '09 catalogue
In 2008 I landed my first writing gig.
My brief was to write a fairy tale of sorts, which would appear in the Thurley Autumn/Winter '09 catalogue, produced by Projects of Imagination.
The photographs, to me, were reminiscent of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, so to complement my story I borrowed a few words from The Bard himself.

Community
I'm the CEO of Scarf, a Melbourne-based social enterprise which I co-founded in 2010. At Scarf, we believe hospitality can transform lives. We partner with great Melbourne restaurants and provide opportunities to young people seeking protection, and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds who face barriers to work. Our programs include awesome hospitality training, mentoring and paid work experience.
For three years I managed Scarf's marketing and communications, from writing web copy to press releases to training inductions. These days I manage the Scarf team and look after social media, website copy, grants and monthly e-newsletters.

The Clifton Richmond
In 2013 I undertook a project for Melbourne creative studio Koodoz Design (now August).
The project saw me write the brochure and web copy for The Clifton Richmond, a boutique apartment block. During the research phase I spoke with developers, architects and interior designers. I also spent time researching Richmond's current offerings and rich history in order to capture the unique energy of this iconic Melbourne suburb.
Interviews
Back in 2008 I interviewed some awesome women for The Dawn Chorus:
SINGER/SONGWRITER ELLA HOOPER
singer/songwriter CLARE BOWDITCH
AUTHOR OF 'THE DIVIDED HEART' RACHEL POWER
Creative
After completing a copywriting job for Koodoz Design (now August), they asked me to do a bit of pro bono work. The brief? To write a little ditty to accompany the agency's annual client Christmas gift. It sounded fun, so I got on board.
The theme of the thank you gesture was summer barbecue, so I fashioned a festive limerick for the gift's swing tag. The barbecue set, including a custom apron, tongs and homemade relishes, was given to all of Koodoz's 2012 clients - lucky them!
We’ve loved working with you throughout the year
But now it’s time for grilled snags and beer
So let’s barbecue
The summer through
With a jolly good dose of festive cheer
